Estoria Abra: Sarrukod
In celebration of our 10th year on YouTube, we proudly present Estoria Abra.
Estoria Abra aims to preserve and share our stories in order to build connections among us, teach us the value of listening, help us understand that every Abrenio's story matters and create an invaluable archive of stories for future Abrenios.
In this first episode of Estoria Abra series, we look back to one of our videos that we posted on YouTube five years ago. In this video we entitled Sarrukod (Ilocano for a cane or a staff used as a support for walking), we pay tribute to the wonderful life of Concordia Favila. Lola or Nana Odiang as she was fondly called, was the caretaker of San Lorenzo Ruiz Shrine in Brgy. Zone III. She dedicated almost her entire life - from tidying up the whole place to ringing the bells herself to call for her fellow parishioners. Nana Odiang passed away in 2013, a year after we had taken her portrait that you'll see in the later part of the video.
