If the rainy weather has been making you feel glum, this sinigang nga bunog (freshwater goby soup soured with tomatoes and tamarind) might just give you that extra boost. You can even add a couple of chilis to make it spicy - perfect for the wet and gloomy season!

Bunog is a freshwater goby that can be found in Abra river and its tributaries. Fresh bunog can also be cooked paksiw-style and fried. The grilled ones or tinuno nga bunog can be added as a savory ingredient to any dinengdeng/inabraw such as pinakbet.
